Computer Aided Environmental Control to Support Environmental-management-systems in Agricul- Tural and Food-industrial Production-chains

The vertical integration of agriculturaland food-industrial processchains gains importance because of consumer-demand for high quality and nonpolluting produced food is increasing. Chain-encompassing process-organizations can contribute to an optimization of the quality characteristics of the products. In this paper a concept of an environmental-management-system in an agriculturaland food-industrial process-chain is developed and presented. The paper concentrates on the design of an operational environmental-information-system (OEIS) and discusses the possibilities of integrating the OEIS into an all inclusive computer aided information-system.
